My Funny Friends B-Day Party

I love this quote! It is so very true! I was having coffee with a friend other day and she was mentioning that she didn’t really want to live that long…I was astonished. I said why not. She said, life is hard I wouldn’t mind being in heaven with my mom right now. I said, “Oh no, I want to live as long as I can, I love life!” She replied that she knew that I felt that way and she couldn’t understand it, with all the hardships I have had. I said Oh, not really! She gasped! It’s true that I have had many challenges with my health, 3 surgeries in the past 4 years, etc. Financial challenges because I haven’t been able to work, stuff like that and that’s the recent situations, but goodness I LOVE LIFE. I always have. Life is the best thing around on this earth after all! I look forward to heaven someday and seeing my little son David again, but I don’t want to be cheated out of one joy-filled moment on this earth. Never! I love life because it’s so fun! Laughs to be had! Precious time with family! My dear funny husband! The sunshine! Snow in the winter! I love everything about it…I don’t mind the challenges. Visiting my mom who has Alzheimer is hard but she is still loving and precious and for now still remembers me! She still has her sense of humor. Actually she’s getting funnier!
I know my friend is tired. She’s an only child and spends a great deal of time taking care of her dad who just transferred into assisted living– finally. She takes so much time with him and always has him to Sunday dinner. She’s very conscientious. I’m more of a goof off than she is. I always make time for relaxation and fun. I’m going to give her this great quote though for our birthdays, we and two other gals party together every year.
That’s another thing if you left this earth too early — think of all the parties you’d miss? I don’t like to think about that. Well that about sums it up be sure to believe your life is fun and definitely worth living for believing will make it so!

You are so right. Life is so fun and I think people really get caught up in things they can’t control and let that effect their lives.
There is too much pleasure to be had in watching my kids smile to not want to continue on this earth for as long as possible.
Joe, dear friend, you said a mouthful, spending time with or even just looking at our children, child in my case, puts everything in perspective. 🙂
Sounds like your friend might be a little battle weary. In those times it alway helps to have a good friend to help bolster our faith.
